Shutter Mike Photography

The Dalby Building on the campus of Phoenix college consists of 45,000 square feet to house the Biology, Psychology and Applied Art & Human Sciences departments.

This is one of the first photographs I have taken with my newest lens, a Sigma 12-24 mm f/4.5-5.6 super wide zoom.  I had to get much closer to my subjects than I am used to with my 28 mm wide angle prime lens.  But the results are much better than I had hoped for.  This lens is going to be a great asset for architectural photography.

The campus of Phoenix College, where this image was shot, is a mix of old and modern architectural styles that are blended very well.  Check back tomorrow for a photo collection of some more of the buildings from the campus.

This is not the main building of the Phoenix First Assembly of God, but it is on their North Phoenix campus.  The photograph was taken from Shadow Mountain to the east of the building.  I love the modern look and clean lines of this building.  The architects even thought about how the building would look from the top of the mountain directly behind it.  Notice there are no mechanical systems or vents or anything on the roof?  At night the glass walls light up with rotating colors of light.
