Phoenix Photography Spots – Palo Verde Library
Architectural Photography, Phoenix Area Photography, Phoenix Photography Spots 2 CommentsThe Palo Verde branch of the Phoenix Public Library system is located in the Maryvale neighborhood in west Phoenix. Designed by Wendell Burnette Architects the library mirrors the neighboring community center building and has a very modern look and feel. The first floor’s walls of glass make the large steel box above appear to be floating above the ground. The panels on the upper portion of the library and neighboring community center reflect the landscape integrating the building with its surroundings.

I’m a former librarian, and a total geek for libraries. For some weird reason, I’m so happy to see that so many of our Phoenix public library buildings are architecturally waaay modern. The Burton Barr downtown (regardless of what the ‘experts’ say about building defects) makes me happy every time I enter it. And the Desert Broom branch on Cave Creek road is gorgeous too. Thanks for the great pics, Mike.

Thanks Heather,
I agree, it is a great thing to such wonder architecture in our libraries. Desert Broom is on my photography “to do” list and I hope to get up there very soon. Thanks for reading and viewing my photographs.
