Now part of the Harkins chain, the Valley Art Theater opened in 1940 as the College Theater (named due to its close proximity to Arizona State I presume). It is a rare surviving single screen theater used today for mostly independent and “art” films. I list it as a “sign of things to come” because it is a hint as to a post I have in the works.
