My favorite carousel is the Santa Cruz boardwalk carousel. I have been riding it since I was a kid and I still feel like a kid when I ride it now. You can still grab the brass ring as you go around and then throw it at the target for a free ride.

BTW, the Snata Cruz carousel is a Looff carousel, there is also one in San Diego.
