The Gilbert Visual Art League’s (GVAL) mission is simple enough, “…to promote and support the visual arts in Gilbert, AZ.” Gilbert is not generally thought of as an art mecca. Off the top of my head I can’t think of any museums or galleries, although I’m sure there must be at least one. But I think it is great that organizations such as the GVAL take up the cause and promote art in a community that might otherwise not have as many opportunities for artists.
One of the GVAL’s main events each year is their Fine Arts Show. The show is an excellent opportunity for local artists to show off their talents and potentially win prizes. Any media is accepted, including photography of course. If you are an artist local to the Gilbert area you should check the League and the art show out.
