The National Park Foundation and Active Network have launched the 12th annual Share the Experience photo contest.  The contest is an opportunity for amateur photographers to submit photographs taken at any federal lands or  historic site for the chance of having their image selected for use on the America the Beautiful Federal Recreation Lands Pass.

In addition to such great exposure for your photograph there are other prizes.

1 st Place:

• $15,000
• Your photo printed on all 500,000+ 2014 Land Passes sold
• An annual pass for yourself

2nd Place:

• $10,000
• An annual pass for yourself

3rd Place:

• $2,500
• An annual pass for yourself

There are also several honorable mention prizes.

When you are out vacationing in the National Parks this summer snapping away here are some of the contest guidelines to keep in mind in case you want to enter.  (Read all the photo contest guidelines here).

Photos should fit into one of these categories:

• Adventure & Outdoor Recreation
• Historical & Cultural
• Scenic, Seasons & Landscapes
• Friends, Family & Fun(ny) on Federal Lands
• Wildlife

Photos must be taken on the lands or within the facilities of these participating agencies:

• National Park Service
• U.S. Bureau of Land Management
• U.S. Bureau of Reclamation
• U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
• U.S. Forest Service

So be sure to have your camera in hand when you are out and about in America this summer.  The entry deadline is 12-31-12 and winners will be announced in March 2013.  You can submit your photos here.
